ILLUMINATING AND UNITING IN A UNIQUE WAY - IN A UNIQUE YEAR

Dear Friends,

Chanukah is coming and make no mistake about it: We are going to celebrate the lights and the miracles this year every bit as much as we have in past years – and even more so!

If ever there was a time that young and old in our community need Chanukah’s uplifting messages of hope, resilience, faith and perseverance to warm their hearts and illuminate their souls, this is surely such a time... and we at Chabad will not fail them!

In addition to setting up prominent Menorah displays in shopping centers, public squares and city landmarks throughout the Conejo Valley and Ventura County, we will be holding a uniquely exciting and inspiring Menorah Parade & Drive-in Concert.

Commencing with car processions originating from multiple starting points – complete with Menorah-mobiles, car-parade flags, boxed Chanukah treats and a common tune-in app – the (pre-reserved) participating vehicles will converge on the huge rooftop deck of the Janns Marketplace parking structure for a dazzling outdoor show of Chanukah music, spectacles and festivities. Conducted in full compliance with Covid safety guidelines and precautions, it will be an extravaganza not likely to be forgotten by its delighted participants any time soon!

Even as we enjoy such special moments as a community, we must not overlook those having a difficult time of things. Toys, gifts and “Chanukah Gelt” will be distributed to the children of financially-strained families. And thanks to our Sunshine Club program, special Chanukah gift boxes will be presented to seniors in assisted living facilities, who will also be treated to courtyard Menorah-kindling ceremonies and celebrations from their windows and balconies!

In this time of giving and sharing, we invite and encourage you to partner in these efforts to share the joy and the lights with our community – especially the less fortunate. Any amount of Chanukah Gelt you might be moved to give toward this meaningful project will be of great help.

In merit of your concern for others and commitment to Jewish pride and solidarity, may you and yours be blessed with a very healthy, joyous and inspiring Chanukah!

Gratefully Yours,

Rabbi Moshe D. Bryski          Rabbi Yisroel Levine
